Some dogs are more treat-oriented than others. It used to be the case that our girl Missy was the only known slave to her stomach in our pack, but lately her brother Buzz has also steered towards the edible goodies.
Missy & Buzz In Treat Heaven!
Buzz used to be as motivated by balls as Missy has always been by food. Ever since the arrival of a certain package by Dr. Harvey’s however, his gourmet side seems to have surfaced!

Using Treat-Motivation In Your Favor
If you have a food motivated dog, you can incorporate high value treats into your training sessions. We love using treats for a variety of training purposes.
We found out that the more advanced our training sessions are, the better the treat rewards have to be. Dr. Harvey’s treats are the perfect treat choice to train behaviors such as off-leash walking, particularly outdoors where distractions abound.
We used to work with Buzz’s favorite chuck-it ball when training his polite off-leash walking skills –> all we had to do was carry the ball in one hand, and he would not leave your side…that’s how focused he was on the ball.
We figured we’d give Dr. Harvey’s treats a try and see if they would work just as well…watch for yourself!
P.S. Remember to adjust your dog’s food intake when handing out treat rewards ~ we wouldn’t want them to become overweight!
