Fit Dogs Can Carry Their Own Poop Bags

My Dogs Carry Their Own Earth Rated Poop Bags -A Review

We recently won a box of 120 Easy-Tie Earth Rated poop bags from Dogsized!

The lavender-scented kind, to be specific.

Earth Rated dog poop bags are definitely a product I’m more than familiar with, so yay for getting some free ones!

I usually buy a big stack on a monthly basis to use for my dog walking business.

That’s right, since I’m a professional dog walker on top of being a proud doggie mommy to my pups Missy & Buzz, I can never have enough poop bags!

Who Is Earth Rated?

The name “Earth Rated” already suggests the company’s dedication to our planet Earth.

That said, Earth Rated is a popular brand that specializes in eco-friendly dog poop bags. Here’s what you need to know about their products:

  • Their poop bags are made from 65% certified post-consumer recycled plastic
  • The poop bag core rolls & packaging are made of recycled material
  • They donate any dog poop bags that don’t pass their quality control to shelters
  • Excess production material is recycled or re-used for future production
  • Earth Rated is a Candian company but has multiple warehouse locations which reduces their carbon footprint

Biodegradable and Eco-Friendly

Earth Rated makes their poop bags from a blend of recycled materials, including biodegradable polymers like cornstarch and vegetable-based materials.

This composition allows the bags to break down more quickly in the environment compared to traditional plastic bags.

Extra Large, Extra Strong and Leak-Proof

The Earth Rated Easy-Tie poop bags we got in the mail are the extra large ones with a wide opening and handles.

They’re thick and resistant to tearing, which means they don’t leak.

They measure 13.5″ by 7″, and I can easily pull them out of their dispensing-box through an opening in the back. So these particular poop bags don’t come on rolls.

Side note: The wide opening makes these poop bags a great option for cat litter cleaning duty as well!

I’ve used them for that very purpose at one of my multi-pet client’s home.

What I’d do is pick up their pup’s poop first, and then I’d scoop the dirty litter from their cat’s litter box on top of it, into the same bag.

Lavender-Scented Dog Poop Bags

As mentioned above, we won the lavender-scented poop bags.

I’m usually not a fan of scented dog products because I find that they can be overpowering scent wise.

These dog poop bags, however, are a nice exception to the rule, because they don’t overwhelm my nose!

However, Earth Rated also has an unscented Easy-Tie poop bag option.

Earth Rated Poop Bags: Convenience of Handles

When we lived in Northern Virginia, about 45 minutes outside of D.C., we had tons of poop bag stations along our walking trails.

As a result, we never had to had carry our dog poop very far.

But now that we’re in rural North Carolina, poop bag stations are a rarity.

You’ll occasionally see one in a State Park, a gated community or in our vet’s parking lot, but that’s about it.

That said, I’ve carried a lot of poop bags around on our walks, wishing for our next military relocation to be in a more urban area that has poop bag stations.

But I digress.

Since the arrival of the Earth Rated poop bags with HANDLES, my pups Missy & Buzz have an additional job ~ carrying their own poop!

It’s super easy to tie their respective poop bags to their doggie backpacks, and now our walks are much more enjoyable for me.

Variety of Sizes and Formats: For Poops Of All Sizes

Earth Rated claims that their dog poop bags are for poops of all sizes, and guess what…they’re right!

My largest clients are Great Danes, and my smallest client pup is a Yorkie Poo, and all of those poops fit wonderfully into the Earth Rated poop bags.

As a matter of fact, I frequently pile up several piles of poop into one and the same bag!

Affordable Dog Waste Bag for $0.07 Per Bag!

A box of the 120 Easy-Tie Earth Rated, lavender scented poop bags with handles retails for around $7.99.

That’s only a cost of $0.07 per bag ~ fair price for a pawsome product!

One time, I got super lucky and got a damaged box of Earth Rated poop bags for a fraction of the regular cost at a physical pet retail store!

I know it’s silly because it’s not exactly an expensive product to begin with, but I definitely did a little happy dance in the poop bag aisle.

Earth Rated Poop Bags: Bottom Line

Although Earth Rated poop bags are environmentally friendly, they’re still durable and reliable.

The brand even offers scented and unscented poop bags.

Their scented bags comes with a lavender fragrance, which helps to mask odors and make the cleanup process more pleasant.

Earth Rated provides different sizes and formats to hold all size dog poop (and cat litter!).

Their bags usually come in rolls that fit into a dedicated poop bag dispenser or attach to a leash. That makes them convenient to carry during urban walks or hikes.

The bags easily tear off from the roll for quick and hassle-free access.

But they also have the Easy-Tie poop bags with handles that live inside a box!

Besides environmentally-friendly dog poop bags, they also have 2 lines of natural rubber dog toys (fetch toys & treat dispensing ones).

Also, the cute little reminder feature to buy more poop bags is a nice touch. I’m a sucker for little details like that, so way to go, Earth Rated!

We do on occasion but we also reuse newspaper bags.

Yay, good for you! We also reuse bags of all sorts that make it into our house ~ better to reuse than just to throw out!

Love those poop bags! I’m not a huge fan of scent either, but these I love! They have them at our local park too!

I think it’s very commendable whenever local parks and/or communities invest in environmentally friendly poop bags! Way go to!

We use a wide variety of bags, but we always have a box of Earth Rated handle bags on hand. They are the only bags that don’t break in the bitter winter cold for one thing, and Mom uses them when she is on runs too because they are strong. With three of us, she crams as much poo into a bag as possible and often times gets 5 or 6 piles in one. (on longer walks, we often go twice)

    1. K9sOverCoffee Avatar

Oooh yes, I know all about cramming as much poop as possible into one bag ๐Ÿ˜‰ And you’re right ~ they are strong!

I haven’t tried these yet, but they look great. Also a great idea for the pups to carry their own poop, love it!

    1. K9sOverCoffee Avatar

You should give them a try, they’re perfect for poop scooping duty ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve never before used any poop bags with handles, but I have really come to appreciate how practical they are!

We have lavender scented…but no handles – they look useful. Maybe have to switch when these run out.

what a great price and I like the handles so you can hook it to something.

    1. K9sOverCoffee Avatar

Exactly my thoughts! I love that I can tie the pups’ poop bags to their backpacks ๐Ÿ˜‰

Those look so easy to deal with! I wish more people would use these; in my mom’s neighborhood no one picks up their poo and it makes her SO mad. We use leftover plastic bags from the grocery store to scoop ours up. I just had my mom start saving the ones she gets and grab a stash from her. Our pugs love a good walk!

    1. K9sOverCoffee Avatar

They really are ~ there’s only one other poop bag brand out there I can seriously say I LOVE (MuttMitts!) I hate when people don’t pick up after their dog’s poop, and I’ve noticed that problem both in urban as well as rural areas. I’m all for recycling any sort of bag that is fit for poop scooping duty! Happy Pug Walking ๐Ÿ™‚
