You probably know by now that I’m a sucker for single-ingredient dog treats. If you’re a new visitor to my blog – welcome and “Hey, I’m Barbara, a single-ingredient dog treat addict” 😉
I just don’t see why I would share any dog goodies with my pups that contain artificial ingredients & preservatives if there are alternatives available that are both healthy AND scrumptious!
Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post ~ K9sOverCoffee received one bag of Beef Lungs & 1 bag of Duck Feet from Treats Happen in return for an honest review. Treats Happen is not responsible for the content of this blog post.
When talking to my friend Stephanie on Black Friday, she mentioned that she had just stocked up on several single-ingredient goodies for her two Boxer pups Zev & Atticus, AND it being Black Friday, had been able to get them at a great deal from Treats Happen on top of it!
Who is Treats Happen?
Canadians Lucas & Riley began making their very own single-ingredient treats for their Boxers Bentley & Charlotte in late 2013 because they were disappointed with the quality and quantity of natural treats available at local pet stores. Soon after, their online business was born and taken to the next level when Lucas was let go of his job in March of 2015.
Treats Happen sell a variety of dehydrated, natural dog treats that are also available in subscription box size, as well as antlers, supplements, and a dog balm for cracked noses and paws.
I had actually been wanting to get the pups a treat subscription box for quite some time now, but had yet to find one that truly convinced me. Well, after Stephanie mentioned the Canadian company Treats Happen, I surfed over to their website and really liked what I saw.
I ended up ordering a monthly jumbo pizzle subscription box for the pups, and Treats Happen added two bags of their beef lungs and duck feet free of charge in return for a review on the blog.
Needless to say, Missy & Buzz were in single-ingredient treat heaven when their early Christmas gifts arrived and had a blast unpacking their own package 😉
Truly Natural, Single Ingredient Treats
All of Treats Happen’s treats are made from 100% Canadian meat and are 100% free of preservatives, salts, colors, chemicals, and fillers. They also contain no grains, flour, sugar, or corn starch – or “any other crap”, as Treats Happen puts it! (I love it!)
You can get your paws on the following products from Treats Happen:
Dehydrated Beef Lung/Liver/Tendons, Dehydrated Beef Pizzles, Elk Antlers, Dehydrated Chicken Feet & Duck Feet
Treats Happen also offer an immune-system boosting daily supplement “Simply Complete” that can be added to both raw and kibble diets – it made it on my “to-get list” (Alfalfa Leaf, Apple-Cider Vinegar, Dandelion Root and many more health boosters are hard to say no to!).
Dehydrated Duck & Chicken Feet – Great for Joint Support
Did you know that Chicken feet and Duck feet are natural sources of glucosamine & chondroitin, which support your dog’s joints naturally and promote mobility?
Both types of feet have a great crunch factor and are therefore welcome natural tooth brushes – I would always supervise feeding those types of treats, however, and encourage actual chewing as opposed to potential “inhaling”.
What I’ve found helpful is to hold on to a foot while one of my pups has the other end in their mouth, and not let go until they’ve “crunched” the foot a few times. The bag of duck feet contains about 20 feet, and the bag of chicken feet contains 10 (the chicken feet are slightly larger).
Dehydrated Beef Lung – Great Training Treat
The dehydrated beef lung makes a great training reward for any type of obedience training. It breaks apart super easily without crumbling (I was even able to do it one-handedly while videotaping our training session). One bag consists of 125 g (= 4.4 oz) or 65-100 treats – it really depends on the size of the pieces you break off.
Treats Happen Ship to the US and Canada
Treats Happen currently ship to the US and Canada. They offer free shipping on all orders over $99.
Free Treat Sample – Just Pay Shipping
Treats Happen offer the option of taste-testing a sample of their treat selection before buying an entire bag. The treat sample consists of 1 dehydrated duck foot, 1 dehydrated chicken foot, 1 dehydrated piece of beef lung, and 1 dehydrated piece of beef liver. All you need to pay is $4.99 shipping.
Where To Order
Bottom Line
Missy & Buzz give Treats Happen several paws up – all of their dehydrated treats make wonderful rewards for polite behavior. They’re equally well suited just to spoil your pup, of course, and contribute to their overall well-being 🙂

Mmmmm!
Mmm is right, lol – I’ve been wiping up lots of drool over those treats on the kitchen floor!!!
I love that you can try them for only shipping!! I love one ingredient and healthy treats for our sweet pups!!
So do I, Julie – I think it’s a very fair offer! Miss Cocoa Bean got some healthy treats for Christmas, too 😉
We agree on the single ingredient issue – these look pretty good, will have to check them out.
You won’t be disappointed!
I’ve never seen duck or chicken feet offered before, so I find it interesting. I was wondering about the dangers of a dog “inhaling” the feet and was glad that you suggested holding the foot while they crunch it a bit. I would be worried about the feet getting caught in the throat, otherwise. This is a great review, and I love your presentation. I do believe this is the first time on your blog. Thanks so much! I will be back. 🙂
Thank you for the compliment and for stopping by the blog – welcome! I believe you’ve been by once or twice before, but that was on the “old” blog with a different theme & layout 😉
Both types of feet are a regular part of feeding raw diets – they belong in the bone category which makes up 10% of feeding raw (80% meat, 10% organ, 10% bone). We transitioned to raw about 6 months ago and will never go back to kibble.
My crew LOVES Treats Happen!
So awesome to hear that you feed your crew Treats Happen!!
