The Dog Days of Summer sure have been upon us lately with temperatures in the 90s and even 100s, which calls for fun cooling measures here in our pack!
Doggie Popsicles with KONG toys
I like using the classic, fillable KONG toys because they provide entertainment for quite some time AND because they’re so easy to clean…they can be washed on the top rack of the dishwasher, making clean up a breeze!
Only 2 Ingredients: Peanut Butter & Duck Sticks
I only used 2 ingredients for my Doggie Popsicles: Jif Peanut Butter & Loving Pets Natural Value Duck Sticks.
The Duck Sticks are made in the USA and are by-product free, as well as soy, grain, gluten, & wheat free.
They only contain the following: Duck, Turkey, Vegetable Glycerin, Mixed Tocopherols & Rosemary Extract (both are natural preservatives), and Natural Smoke Flavoring.
Natural Value suggests giving 1 treat per 15 pounds of your dog’s total body weight, but obviously this is only a guideline and will vary from dog to dog.
All I did was fill the KONG toys with peanut butter, added a duck stick to the creamy delicacy, and then let it solidify in the freezer for several hours.
Missy & Buzz couldn’t wait to dig into their cooling treats ~ they absolutely ♥ the Peanut Butter/Duck Stick Doggie Popsicles!
Does your pup have a favorite cooling treat? As always, we’d love to hear from you in our comment section!

I totally forgot I have a recipe for pupcicles!! I have to make those for the girls. It’s like 100 here!
Yay, your girls will be in for a cooling treat 😉 This heat wave is crazy, isn’t it?
That’s a good idea to put the stick in there – Maggie doesn’t quite get the licking aspect of the Kong, but with this, she might.
It’s a slightly different take on a doggie puzzle 😉 I’d be interested in knowing if Maggie did go for the interior of the KONG!
This is a tasty idea and a great outside treat for while I’m gardening.
That’s a wonderful idea to give the popsicle outside!
What an amazing idea! I’m definitely going to make these for Ruby!
Yay, let me know how Ruby likes the popsicles!
I love the pupsicle idea with a Kong! But I can’t see the photos. 🙁
That’s so weird that you can’t see them…just checked and they loaded both on the computer & on my phone. Did you try again?
There they are!!
