You guys, I’m stoked to talk to you about my latest find in the single ingredient treat niche – Live Pawsitively Dog Treats – for three very specific reasons.
First off, Live Pawsitively Dog Treats is a small business in Southern Florida that’s run by Tami Maier.
Second, Tami sells homemade, single-ingredient, freeze-dried & dehydrated dog treats.
Anyone who reads my blog on a regular basis knows that I’m a sucker for single-ingredient goodies.
After all, they’re about as healthy as a treat can get, and I only want the best for my K9 loves Missy & Buzz.
Thirdly, Tami works in the pet care industry just like me and offers pet sitting, boarding, and pet taxi services in Miami.
How about that?!
I’m always excited to learn about fellow pet sitters – especially when they also cater to my pups’ stomachs.

Freeze Dried & Dehydrated Dog Treats Without Any Additives, Grains, Gluten & Hormones
Tami’s on a mission to offer only the “best for your pets”.
That means making dog treats without any grains, gluten, hormones, synthetic preservatives and unpronounceable, superfluous ingredients.
Right up my alley!
All of her dog treats are either freeze-dried or dehydrated.
Both methods are gentle ways of preserving food the natural way and don’t require refrigeration.
I store my freeze-dried and dehydrated dog treats in the pantry.
Homemade Here In The USA
Tami has full control over the production of her dog treat lines because she hand makes them in her kitchen!
All the meat & poultry she uses comes from Wisconsin, Kentucky, & Florida (Miami).
While it’s not organic, it’s from natural grass-fed cattle that hasn’t been treated with hormones.
The poultry has also not been treated with hormones.
The salmon dog treats are made from wild-caught Alaskan salmon.
Chicken, Turkey, Beef, Lamb & Salmon Dog Treats
Missy & Buzz got to sample five different proteins – beef, chicken, turkey, lamb and salmon.
They included hearts, livers and non-organ meat (just an FYI: Raw feeders don’t consider hearts organs but muscle meat).
We also had one medley which consisted of beef heart, liver & kidney.
I reserved most of the lamb for Buzz since we just learned that Missy reacts poorly to lamb when her DNA was tested for sensitivities.
Which, of course, didn’t make her drool any less over the lamb dog treats!!
You can read more about our dog allergy test here: I found out what my dog is allergic to with PetMedella’s Bioenergetic Scan.
Now, you might be asking yourselves the same question Tami asked me – so which treats did Missy & Buzz like best?
Well, they didn’t have a favorite – they LOVED them all and were very eager to work for them!!
Perfect Dog Training Treats
I incorporated them in our basic obedience training and crate games.
Additionally, I rewarded stays/sits/downs/leave its with the treats and used them to challenge the pups mentally.
I did that by having them sniff out Tami’s yummy treats on our snuffle mat and in the backyard.
Here’s the great part – all of the treats we tested were easy to break up into smaller pieces.
That, of course, made them perfect for training purposes.
Available Online & At Pinecrest Farmers Market in Miami, FL
You can get your paws on Tami’s treats online at LivePawsitively.com. They all come in 3 oz containers and sell for $8.00.
If you’re lucky enough to call yourself a Miami resident, you can buy them at Pinecrest Farmers Market located at 11000 Red Rd, Pinecrest, FL 33156 (Sunday mornings starting at 9 am).
Next time I’m in Miami, you bet that I’ll be checking out the Farmers Market and saying hi to Tami in person (so far, I’ve only had layovers at the Miami airport).
You can also get the Live Pawsitively dog treats on Amazon.
Nope! Except that I’d love for Tami to live here in my neck of the North Carolinian woods and sell her dog treats at a local farmers market HERE!
Live Pawsitively Dog Treats: Bottom Line
We most definitely recommend Live Pawsitively’s dog treats because they don’t contain any unpronounceable crap, are homemade here in the USA, and make great, healthy dog training treats.
Tami being a fellow pet sitter and small business owner is certainly the cherry on top!
